This is my grandfather.
A few months ago, he saw Marvel’s Thor for the first time, and really enjoyed it. Born and raised in Sweden, he was brought up on the Norse Myths and found the whole presentation entertaining and fascinating. He was particularly enthused by Loki, and Mjolnir - Thor’s hammer.
When the film was over, he snuck out to his shed, and returned with what must have been the largest hammer he owned. Giggling, he said “It is me! I am the one.” holding it high above his head.
Thanks for the memories, Farfar. I don’t want to say ‘rest in peace’… because I don’t remember you as the kind of guy to rest. So instead, keep being an inspiration for fun, joy, and good times.
Whosoever hold this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.
